On my Substack, I recently wrote about the weights of electric cars, and how they compare to gasoline ones.
In that post, I included a static visualisation to show this. But it’s impossible to label every car model on the chart, so people can’t explore the spectrum of vehicles.
I’ve made this available in the interactive chart below. Just hover over any dot to see the EV make and model, and its curb weight.
Shown in red are the average weights of cars across various countries, and small and heavy petrol or diesel cars for comparison.
